Gas appliances require routine maintenance and
examination just like any other appliance. They
should normally be serviced annually, however,
different appliances respond differently to their
working environment and loads. Regardless of
workload, if they are in a private domestic dwelling
they must be serviced at least every two years. The
Corgi Gas Certificate ensures the appliance is SAFE
to use and that there has been no deterioration of
performance.
Safety Legislation ensures that
appliances in let property, commercial, retail and
office property and to public buildings are
routinely checked for safe use.
A service is NOT a safety check.
It is a common mistake to think that because a
safety check may have been carried out this passes
or duplicates for a service. It makes sense to carry
out the safety check and a sevice at the same time,
since this does away with two service calls. EPH

service any number of gas appliances in a domestic
property for a fixed fee of £49+VAT.
